I work instinctively making connections with what is happening in my life through the exploration of a diversity of materials and techniques while remaining open to possibilities.
I want to surprise myself.
Relationships and the emotional ties that both bind and support us in life and the individual need to make a mark, to say 'I was here' interest me. 

My work to date has taken the form of a series of drawings / prints / paintings with a recurring theme or a form of installation linking different elements which only seem to make sense when together.

Selected residencies and funded projects

2010 /2011         Fife Visual Arts Award to make new paintings and short film for Coast a Blacksand group exhibition in Kirkcaldy Museum and Gallery Fife, which then toured to the COAST festival in Banff & Macduff.

The Space Between Short residency within the Kingdom Shopping Centre. Paintings exhibited in  Fifespace Gallery and shops within the centre.

Crack installation in shop window for Art in Shop Windows organised by Blacksand in conjunction with Fife Council.

Fife Visual Arts Award for making new work for a collaborative work with Elaine Allison Nesting was shown in Heartwood Blairgowrie.

2007                     Survey contemporary sculpture from Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop, Royal Scottish Academy, Edinburgh.    

2007                     Gift / Gave, - an installation responding to a two month residency in Sand, Norway in connection with Stavanger 2008 City of Culture. Norway

2006                     Homeland Sculpture Space, Utica New York State Residency for two months with artist Elaine Allison Funding from Scottish Arts Council to support residency.
2005                     Shift Installation in National Trust for Scotland property East Lothian Newhailes Collaboration with artist Elaine Allison Funding from Scottish Arts Council and East Lothian Council.
2004                     Path [ways] Installation in National Trust for Scotland property Palace, Culross Fife Collaboration with artist Elaine Allison Funding from Fife Council.
2003                     New Strains Installation in Victorian glass house in Lauriston Castle gardens, Edinburgh Collaboration with artist Elaine Allison Funding from Scottish Arts Council, The Hope Scott Trust, City of Edinburgh Council.
